of God Camp
Lydford campsite is located on a 13 acre property in
St. Ann
, just past Moneague. The property has dormitories that can house approx. 270 persons, a pavilion that accommodates 300 persons, a basketball court and areas for sports and games. This camp and retreat facility is operated by the Youth and Christian Education of the New Testament Church of God.
On January 25-27 their annual Collegiate Camp
was held and it was a tremendous experience. The camp saw an attendance of 109 campers from over 23 tertiary institutions. This year's theme was "Gifted for Missions"with the idea of "CrossWalk'N" as a concept-illustration of living the life of the cross and crossing boundaries to represent Christ. The camp featured interactive discussions, dynamic worship and motivational sessions. Collegiate Camp '08 was a wonderful and refreshing spiritual experience for all campers. Words From The Chair
A unique feature of a Christian, non-denominational service organisation such as CCI Jamaica, is the relationship and interaction of Christians from different church backgrounds. Personally I find it the most rewarding aspect and I imagine Christ happily observing a bit of the unity He prayed for, prior to His return to heaven. I look forward to the networking and fellowship of Christians with-a-heart-for-camping, in the season ahead!-
